timescale jumps from year 2005 to 2004 after preview the print

i.e. I set the timescale from Feb.01-2005 to March 01-2005
aftre I previewed the print, the timescale date jumps to Feb. 2004!! and
that means when I select OK to print I am printing 2004 schedule not 2005
Please advise Regards,
Majid

Make sure that your date format includes the YEAR.

Tools menu / options / view tab / date format ...

Otherwise project assumes the current year. Annoying isn't it?

Hi Jack,
I do not want to have the Year selected in the date format because it
requires wider column to be fully printed. If the issue will be resolved
within next few days then I can leave with it becasuse I am staritng new
peoject starting 2005.
Please advise

You will have the same problem in 2005 when you want to print dates in 2006.
Sorry, There is no alternative.
You can use a custom field to display the date in a short form if you like.
Use the "Format" function in a customized field.

Don't know where you're having the problem. I set up a sample project that
began in Sep 2004 and ended in April 2005 and turned off the year display in
both the date format and the Gantt timescale as it sounds like you've done.
Set a filter to show only those tasks taking placce in 2005. In the file
menu, choose print then click in the timescale entires and use the pull-down
button to display the little calendars and click the start and end of the
date range to print. By selecting a range of 1/1/05 to 12/31/05 and hitting
print preview, I get only the tasks going on in 2005. Closing print preview
returns me to the same print setup screen. The date range of the timescale
does revert back now showing 1/1/2004 instead of 2005 if I click the button
to drop down the little calendar but all it takes is a click on the year
spinner and one click on the up button to reset back to 2005 for the paper
print run. As long as you remember to reset the timescale start and end
back to where it should be between the print preview and the actual paper
print there's no problem. An inconvenience I grant you but a rather minor
one easily worked around.
