When printing custom pg 5.5X8 w/0.5 margins "margins outside prin.

When attempting to print a custom-size page 5.5 x 8 with margins of .5, the
"Margins outside printable area" message displays; if I print anyway, the
document is "centered" acorss the 8.5 printer platen, so that my left margin
is somewhere in the middle of my 5.5 width.
