Windows XP / Access font problem

Recently I did a spyware scan with a program I've used before, and accepted
the "repairs" it made and deleted the files. Well, upon reboot, it didn't.
Over and over it refused to reboot. Finally I got it up in safe mode and did
a "restore". Since then the fonts at appear in applications such as Skype,
and MS Access have changed. I cannot seem to get them back. I can change
fonts in Access, but it doesn't look the same.

What might have changed in Windows that so significantly changes fonts in
other programs? Any help would be appreciated.

Maybe some fonts have been deleted. I would reinstall those programs,
and be more careful accepting recommendations (including this one )
next time.
