Word consistently crashes within less than a minute from opening

Stef

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Word crashes as soon as it opens, I don't even have a chance to type or read my documents any longer - word simply freezes and I have to force quit it!

I've had this Mac and Word 2008 for a bit less than 2 months and hadn't had troubles, but today, after a long period editing a document, it crashed and now as soon as I try to open the document I have to work on it on it crashes on me!

I'd appreciate some help. So I will copy the (long) crash report below.

Thanks in advance!

Stef

Hi Stef:

The clue is in "... As soon as I open the document I have to work on..."

The document has a corruption in it.

Create a new document with a new file name, then:

1) Use File>Open from within Word

2) Change "Enable" to "recover text from any file"

3) Get the text out of the bad document and paste it into the new one.

Re-apply the styles to format the text.

Hope this helps
