Hello,

I read a lot of posting regarding WorkGroup and I want to make sure I
understand correctly.

I would like to manage electronic timesheet and use it to feed
administration system, project system and executive report.

We have MS-Project 2000.

First : Do I need Project Central to manage task with the team on the
internet ?
I read in a lot of post that people are managing task with WEB
Workgroup.

Second : Will I be able to trace work entered by resource ?
I would like to feed admin system that team had done

If the two question are negative, what system could be use to track
timesheet with task from MS-Project ?

Thanks in advance
Marty

The simiplest and cheapest way to do this is to build a database-driven Web
site. Design custom forms, and make them as simple as possible so that users
can access it through their PDA's, cellphones, etc. This way, you have
complete control and collect only the info you need. Then, once a week,
import the values into MS Project. Note that you can add code to the forms
that send you an email to tell you that time has been entered.
This is just one of many possible solutions, but I find it to be a good one,
for three reasons: the forms can be as simple as possible, they can collect
data that MS Project doesn't include or uses a different format, and
finally, you can perform calculations on the data, maintain an audit trail
using a timestamp and Username, and create custom reports from your Access
database. Okay that, more than 3 reasons, but you get the idea.

Please also check out any pre-packaged solutions that others may recommend.
