good afternoon,
I have a problem with outlook:
it stops dead. This happens erratically, and often.
I can see that this seems to be a windows search service error
The registry value cannot be read because the configuration is
invalid.Recreate the content index configuration by removing the content
index (0x80040d03)

Now it should be simple, except that I have no idea what file should be
removed, just to be born again in proper shape...
How can I reach it?
Even if it is not the fundamental cause of my problem, I would like to
correct it.
thank you

A Google search of this error message suggests you should set the registry
key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows
Search\SetupCompletedSuccessfully to zero and see if indexing can recover.
I found no reference to any other registry key nor any articles in the MSKB
referencing that number. I did find reference to this error in relation to
trying to move the index. Did you do that?

I have tried that, but I don't have any "SetupCompletedSuccessfully" item
I did not try to move that index I have no idea what it is!

Finally, I just tried a chkdsk, and it seems to have cured my problem!
I have not had the problem, so I think it is gone, and I hope it will not
come back
thank you
