1 task, 3 start/stops

For our business, I would like to represent each "job" as an individual task.
However, each job will have 3 individuals working on it. An Engineer,
Electrician, and Technician. The technician starts after the electrician,
whom starts after the Engineer. How do I show 3 start/stops on one
line....or is it even possible. I tried using the (start1) and (duration1)
but it isn't working. Ideally, it would be nice to have 3 "resources" as
well. Any suggestions?

Hello Kelly,

I would not recommend creating a single task which starts and stops. I
believe you will find it is *much* more difficult to assign your three
resources as well as accurately track progress.

Consider creating a summary task representing the "job" and a task for
each resource's contribution to the overall job. Create
predecessor/successor relationships so that the task using the engineer
is the predecessor to the task using the electrician. Then the task
using the electrician is the predecessor to the task using the
technician.

As far as creating the three resources, show the Resource Sheet view and
create the three resources there.

project files with tasks, resources and assignments. His articles can

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
