Hi Scott,
I'm running it – so far, nothing of note good or bad.

I installed it on half a dozen Mac here. No problem so far,

Yes I updated it and that went fine. I couldn't find any release notes
around this update so I really don't know what it is supposed to
accomplish. All that I could find is that it improves stability and I
guess there is more security guards in the software.

What i find interesting about the release notes from the knowledge page it says 12.1.5 includes all other updates. It says all you have to do is have 12.1.0 installed and you can install 12.1.5, the interesting part is the download file for 12.1.5 is only about 104MB, but the download file for 12.1.3 (which 12.1.5 is suppose to include all the fixes from) is over 154MB???? How can that be???

From a MSFT developer:

We have also done a few things with our updater to try and reduce the size
(at least for now). So, the size is smaller, but this is a complete combo
updater.

Hope this helps!

I had the same problem and could not install the update for a couple of weeks. I just tried again and installed everything successfully. I don't think I did anything in the meantime to fix the problem myself. I did notice that my version (before updating to 12.1.5) was Word 12.1.2. Sorry I can't offer anything more constructive than "try again."

This has not been available via "Microsoft AutoUpdate" for about a week now.

It was available through there for a couple of days, but has been gone for a while (and I tested this by reverting back to "12.0" -- I can get the 12.1.2, 12.1.3 and 12.1.4 updates via autoupdate, but then it says no other updates are available after that...

Was it pulled from autoupdate for some reason?

Not as far as I know. You don't need the 12.1.2, 12.1.3 and 12.1.4. They are
rolling into the 12.1.5 updater. You can download it manually from Mactopia.

Can you try it?

I reloaded a machine here, did a "remove office" and let autoupdate walk through everything starting from 12.0

I installs through 12.1.4, then reports no further updates available.

I'd rather not do a manual installation if MS thinks there's some reason that it shouldn't be installed through auto-update.

Thanks!

What exactly. I just did a reinstall myself and do not see the updaters you
are seeing.

AutoUpdate does not always work. I'm not sure why your install is even
asking for these updates. Once they have been rolled into a combo it's hard
to even find them on the Microsoft site.

Tell me what version you see for this file. When you click on the file it
should show version 2.2.0

/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/MAU2.0

Download this script that will show you Office version info. Note there are
different scripts for Office X, 2004 and Office 2008. It gives the version
number for each Office application, the component plugin and your OS
version. Even if ALL the Office applications aren't updated each time, the
Microsoft Component Plugin, which isn't an app, will always show the latest
update.

So, to confirm this...

I ran "Remove Office" and uninstalled Office 2008.

Installed Office 2008 from the master CD.

AutoUpdate showed the 12.1.0 update (so autoupdate is working and it's
not a DNS issue -- unless there are other servers for different
updates?) Installed that.

After that installed, the 12.1.3 update was available (installed that.)

After *that*, 12.1.4 showed. Installed that.

After **that** -- "no updates available at this time". (12.1.5 *was*
there earlier this week (I know last Friday/Saturday it was there...)

No need to install 12.1.3 and 12.1.4. They were rolled into the 12.1.5
updater.

This -- 12.1.5 -- is now (Wednesday morning) showing up in Microsoft AutoUpdate.

Maybe somebody else read this thread and took care of it. Thanks, whomever you are!
