In Publisher How do I make a 12-page newsletter made up of 3 folded 8.5x10
folded in half and stapled together in the fold. Is it easier to do it in
Word?

Why would you think it would be easier in Word?

I assume you meant 8½ x 11 so that you end up with a newsletter that's 5½"
wide by 8½" high when finished. Will you be printing this yourself or will
you be taking this to a printer? I'm asking because your printer may have a
preference. If it were my newsletter, I'd start with a page that is 5½ x 8½,
set up my margins, and then start adding columns, linking them if needed,
and whatever masthead info I needed.

Yes, I meant 8.5 x 11. I have NEVER used Publisher, have no idea how to
begin this project. It is a booklet I want made from three 8.5 x 11 paper
folded in half and stapled all together in the crease, comes out to a
12-page booklet , no columns. pages numbered 1-12 consecutively so when
entering stories onto the sheets they come out in order 1-12 when turning
page by page. 1 and 12 being the first and last page, front and back of
booklet, etc.
Thank you.

THank you so much. I don't want columns though. I just want 12 pages of
booklet made by 8.5 x 11 paper folded in half, on top of the other and
stapled in the crease, with page 1 being in front of the booklet and page 12
being the back of the booklet.
thanks, i'll try your suggestion now.. never used publisher before, this
will be the first time.

thank you every so much for your time.

Couldn't get to Special Fold... never found it in page setup. Can't change
to landscape orientation, don['t know why, it says something like, can't use
landscape orientation when printing labels.... I never asked for labels,
paper layout states letter size,,,, I don't know what to do. Can't get past
Page Setup.... So I'm stuck!!! I can do open new publication, page set up and
that's it!!! Frustrated...
Thanks

Are you using Publisher 2002 or 03? The page setup will have "booklet" in its
selections. Publisher will default to landscape and the correct page size (5.5 x
8.5).
Any version before 2002 will have the options Don suggested for page layout.

"3 folded 8.5x10" ?? Do you mean 3 columns?

If you want 3 columns in booklet form:

File
Page Setup
Special fold
Book fold
Landscape
OK

You will asked if you want automatic 4 pages, YES

Arrange
Set margins to +/- .5"
Set columns to 3
OK

You are on your way.

You will also need a long arm stapler which costs +/- $25..00

Have no clue about the web site, but the publications will open okay. Get the WordArt
compatibility download.

You use it by insert, object, scroll down to Microsoft WordArt 3.2
You will be disappointed with the clipart... Not much included. Keep the Gallery
around.

Good morning Mary,

Tuesday I'll be getting Windows XP (presently 2000) and after getting
acclimated to it may go to Publisher 2003. Will it be problem free
converting my pub files and my website to the 2003 workings?

Don...ask David Bartosik about the website issue. You could have a nightmare
on your hands related to this part.
