You need to ask them what the home page should be named for their server.
Some common names are: index.htm, index.html, default.htm, default.html. If
you are not aware of what is should be and don't rename your home page when
you create your web/site FP will automatically adjust to what the server
requires hence you can end up with two homepages...like: index.htm AND
index.html - one of which is not needed and will cause problems for you.
Also the extension is only important on the root homepage, that's to say if
they require index.html all your other pages can still be htm or html -
doesnt matter on other pages.
