Having just read your other post (and you should really wait more than 18
minutes before posting again on the same topic) in your case, no, you
cannot. Office 2003 Basic is only sold with a system and is, therefore,
considered to be OEM and, as such, is forever tied to the system it was sold
with, or first installed on (in the case of an OEM licence bought with an
item of non-peripheral hardware). You will have to leave the Basic where it
is and install Professional on the other system.

The Difference Between OEM and Retail
---------------------------------------------------
OEM versions:

-- cannot upgrade
-- cannot be transferred to a different computer in the future
-- the license cannot be sold or transferred to another user
-- are not eligible for free Microsoft technical support
-- cost less than "retail versions" due to the above limitations

Retail versions:

-- can upgrade (though this does *NOT* apply to student versions, nor can
you use an upgrade to perform 'crossgrades' that is 'upgrading' between
versions in the same product line)
-- can be transferred to a different computer in the future
-- the license can be sold or transferred to another user
-- are eligible for free Microsoft technical support
-- cost more than "OEM versions" due to the above capabilities

Yes. If you click Help > About...you'll see a link to view the EULA
(End User License Agreement). There you'll see...

1. GRANT OF LICENSE. Microsoft grants you the following rights
provided that you comply with all terms and conditions of this EULA:
1.1 Installation and use. You may:
(a) install and use a copy of the Software on one personal
computer or other device; and
(b) install an additional copy of the Software on a second,
portable device for the exclusive use of the primary user of the first
copy of the Software.

This applies to shrinkwrap software you purchase yourself. If it's OEM
(Original Equipment Manufacturer) software, i.e., preinstalled...then
the license belongs to the PC and you cannot install it on any other
system.

There are many versions and many difference licenses, so your best bet
is to READ the license YOU have either before you install it (like
when you agree to it<g>) or after, through the Help > About menu.

The overall, general license for Office has always allowed you two
installs. However, previously it was one at the office, one at home
for that same user (back when that was a "normal" lifestyle). But now
with so many users having home computers...that the entire family
uses...the license was changed about six yrs ago (???) to define the
installs as one PC and one portable device (laptop, tablet, ?).

You use the same key.
