Hi, MPVs,
I have a big project that involves 8 functional departments and their tasks
are interdependant. Our matrix organization needs that the project should be
Marco managed by a central PM team and Micro managed by functional managers.
Both central PM and funtional managers should be able to work on Project
professional to manager the project and tasks.
Current configuration is, each functional manager creates their own project
and Central PM creates a Master project with insertion of all funtional
manager's projects as sub, Master and Subs are Linked together. The problem
is, the update notifications go to their own status manager(functional
managers). Is there any method to provide central PM a in time notifications
about task updates? Or do you have other better practices for my case?

Thanks in advance,

JJin

Your approach of using a master project and subprojects is solid. If you
need to set up one person to handle all task updates for the program of
projects, that person would need to open each subproject individually,
specify him/herself as the Status Manager for every task, and then save and
publish the project. Hope this helps.
