2003 and Notifications

I have it set to recieve a visual notification when a message arrives and it
works. But if I have rules set up to have mail go to specify folders based
on the sender, the notification does not come up....I don't know I have
mail.....Why doesn't this work for mail that comes in other than into the
inbox?

You need to specify as part of your Rule to display a "Desktop Alert"
