I am attempting to use shared resources across multiple projects. I get
consistent crashes of project when trying to load a project after it has been
created and saved with a reference to the shared resource file.
Please advise if there are some clues as to what they could be causing this
problem.
Thanks

Firstly make sure you have at least SP2 applied.

Secondly, have you saved the project files AND the resource pool after
linking? Make sure you NEVER over-write files, rename them or move them
without first disconnecting from the pool otherwise file corruptions will
occur sooner or later. That's the nature of the old DDE technology used for
linking.

As an alternative consider creating a master schedule once a week by
inserting all projects, but clearing the Link option. This copies all tasks
and resources and consolidates resource usage so you can review resource
usage across all your projects.

Easier still, record a macro of you dong this so you just have to run the
macro once a week. make sure the first instruction recorded is create new
file!
