2007 Backwards compatility

Hi,

I have created a small db with 2007 (saved as .mdb) - no "hand-crafted" VBA.
Simply a form with a combo box and several buttons to open other forms and
generate reports.

However, nothing works in 2003 - when i click on the buttons - it just sits
and looks at me!! This database has to work on both versions.

Do I really have to do everything on 2003 - or is there a fix for this?
This is going to make life really difficult if I can only maintain it on 2003
- as 2007 is what I've got on my desk at work.

Please could someone advise me.

Thanks

Lindsay

Have you checked your Macro security settings?

I noticed that mine did not seem to carry over from 2003 when I started
working on a 2003 mdb in Office 2007. I had to reset my macro security
settings, so you might have to do the same in 2003.

I think this is in the VBA Editor window, but don't remember where, and
don't have 2003 installed on this PC.

Hi, Lindsay -

Is the functionality of your command buttons provided by embedded macros?
If so, they just won't work in Access 2003, because it doesn't support that
sort of macro. VBA event procedures would probably work.

WOW!!! That is exactly what I've done - I thought this was a neat way of
doing the macros - but hadn't twigged that this was a problem! Thanks. I
have spent hours studying the MS website - hunting for ideas, with no joy
...... I should have come here first!

I do have a couple of other issues - but I will fix this - and come back
when I've hit the next brick wall.

Thanks again.
