Hello-

Entourage will not let me send email from home office computer, but will from laptop operating withe same account information and same wireless network. When sending from system in question, we receive "5.7.0 ...authentication rejected" message.

Full error message: The server for account MDNEWS returned the error 5.7.0...authentication rejected. Your username/password or security settings may be incorrect. Would you like to try reentering your password? I am given a YES or NO option.

If yes, it allows me to re-enter correct SMTP information but continues to reject all smtp outgoing mail and defaults back to the same message. If no is entered, it simply resets for the set 2-minute send/receive.

Incoming mail works fine on all systems. Went into account settings on system in question and everything is correct and same as other computers in network. All account ID and password information is entered correctly. Account does receive all messages on both computers.

I've deleted the account and reconstructed it as a new account and the same issue occurs.

Is there a fix for this? Is there something I'm missing that is obvious?

Thank you for any assistance for this fix. MedicalVoyce, INC.

Have you also looked at the "Click here for advanced sending options"
button in your account settings? Tools --> Accounts... --> double-click
your account --> Sending mail.

Hope this helps!

Thank you, Bill, but that was not this issue. I've ensured the correct information is there. We've also changed from PORT 25 to PORT 587. Tonight we have a new error number: -17900. (not 17099).

We did a unload, reload of the OfficeMac suite, and it still rejects this USERNAME/PASSWORD no matter what we do.

Any one have any more ideas? Is this a ISP provider issue? A MacOffice issue? An Apple MAC issue?

Thank you in advance.

Did you run Keychain First Aid? Have you tried in a new User? Go to System
Preferences --> Create a New User in Accounts. Switch to the New User by
logging out/in or use Fast User Switching. Test the account in a new blank
Identity.
