--A Find & Replace Question--

Hey guys,
I am constantly editing rtf & html ebooks with word. Every document for
some odd reason has a couple of areas where there is an extra space in
between paragraphs, here's an example:

Hlkjlkjk...................................................................
............................................................................
............................................................................
......................klklkl.

Koipopio...................................................................
............................................................................
............................................................................
......................ppopop.

In the example above there are two spaces between the 2 paragraphs when
their should only be one. This happens about 2 to 3 times per document & is
a little time consuming to search the document for each one.

I figured out how to fix this by using the Find & Replace tools. I would
open up Find, then click on the More button. Then I open up special &
choose 1st paragraph mark (^p) & 2nd white space (^w). It looks like this
in the find box: ^p^w

This has been working perfectly, but all of a sudden it can't find any of
them, even when I know for sure that their are 2 to 3 in the document.
Does anyone know whats up with this? Any help would be appreciated, not to
mention save me alot of time.

Thanx,

Thanx for both of yalls help on this one. I finally got it, & here's how I
did it if anyone else is having the same problem.

Went to:
-- Tools < Options < Compatability < Recommended Options For: & chose Word
2003
-- Then I put a check in each one of these boxes:
* Don't use HTML paragraph auto spacing
* Show hard page or column breaks in frames
* Suppress extra line spacing at the bottom of the page
* Suppress extra line spacing at the top of the page
* Suppress Space Before & After a hard page break or column break
* Use link breaking rules

So now the problem is solved, & I really appreciate the help yall gave me.
Thanx,
