A Master should be a Master

I need to fix an aspect of a master. That fix needs to be incorporated into
existing drawings without having to replace each instance of the master.
1. There's no way to search for instances of a master! You should be able to
replace all instances of a master, or iterate through all the instances and
make a decision, 1 by 1.
2. Fixing a master doesn't change any of its instances! What's the point of
having the Match master name on Drop attribute if it doesn't change the
instances?

Making these two fixes will improve the usability of Visio.

Thanks,

consider opening the document stencil (via the file menu) and changing it
there. You are correct it is not smart enough to search for every other
document that may have used the specific master you are using.

can do this for you. Shape Substitute. You may need to do the
substitution in two stages, first substitute for a totally different
shape, then replace with the original master type.
