A PowerPoint Viewer (from Office 2003) for old computers with Windows9x and Me?

Hi there.

I have a 150 MB PowerPoint file that is mostly filled with huge JPEG
images. Is there a free viewer to view this huge PowerPoint file? It was
created under Office 2003's PowerPoint. I am concerned for the older
machines with slow speed, old Windows 9x and Me, and limited memory.
They are easy to crash obviously.

Thank you in advance.

Hmm, it looks like 2003 viewer is the same one as

.... Does anyone have experiences with huge PowerPoint files on slow
aging machines with limited memory?

Ant,

Download Free PowerPoint Viewers

Whether or not it will play is entirely up to the machines

The PowerPoint Viewer 2003 will work on all machines with Windows 98 and
newer, but not on Win NT.

My old computer became veeeeery slooooow, if I tried to open PowerPoint
files of more the 30 MB, and crashed when I tried to open a file of 70 MB.

So my advice would be tro try and reduce the file size. In your first
posting you said there are huge JPG image in that presentation. You could
start with making them smaller.

A good read about file sizes: "Why are my PowerPoint files so big?"

There is often confusion about Windows 98. The PowerPoint 2003 Viewer will not
work with Windows 98 (first edition), but is supposed to work with Windows 98
SE. It will also run on Windows 2000 as long as service pack 3 is installed.

Interesting. I will keep that 98 FE in mind.
