A special type of chart

Hi there,

I wonder if Excel could produce a chart like ...
(Please, look at it with a non proportional font.)

***********4************

****3**********
******|******
*********2*********
|******
***************1***********
|
---------------------------------
-3 -2 -1 0 1 2 3

Both X and Y axis show values of two 'populations'.
One scores positive, the other negative values.
It should look a bit like a statistics chart on the
age * # persons build-up in female (left) and male
(right). (Such a chart will be even worse because
left and right are both positive.)

I tried many chart (sub) types and options. No way.

Tonight I'll go for the arithmatic approach like
used in the 'Floating Bar' custom type chart.
It will be late ;-(.

Hi Ed,

Your tip gave the break through.

Jon's site is fantastic. I saw things that I thought impossible.
Chapeau!
