A tip: printing landscape/portrait

Here's a tip for printing documents/PDFs to OneNote, where there are some
pages oriented landscape, some oriented portrait in the same document (this
is one annoying weakness of printing PDFs -- you have to choose all pages to
be one or the other --and there is no way to change a page's orientation once
it is in OneNote).

The following takes a extra couple of steps but it does work and all pages
will be oriented correctly after printing to OneNote.

When you select "Print..." and Instead of choosing the printer "Print to
OneNote 2007", choose "Print to Microsoft Office Document Image Writer".

This action automatically opens MDI. It firsts asks you to save the file
-- do this and note the location. Now, If you scroll through the document,
you'll see that all your pages are automatically oriented correctly. If they
aren't, you can run the OCR routine, which generally will automatically
orient them, or you can right click on any page and rotate it individually.

Then SAVE a final copy of the MDI document. Using Windows explorer, drag
and drop the *.MDI document onto a OneNote page. Choose "Insert a printout
so I can add notes."

Voila. Pages oriented correctly. Perhaps a slight loss in image quality as
a tradeoff.

Of course, you would think that ANY MDI functionality could have been built
into OneNote ...
