Phone, network it is on, capabilities of phone, type of connection to the
computer that is presenting the PowerPoint show, version of PPT, etc.

It depends on the cell phone you own. There is software for Ericsson phones
and Windows Mobile smartphones: http://www.jeyo.com/remote.asp

And iPhones can be used as remotes for Apple Keynote.

But I have not tested either of these myself.
