access 2003 runtime ignoring printer settings

Andrew Brill

We have a client running our software on access 2003 runtime SP1 whose
complaining that our software ignores his printer settings, such as printing
in colour when set to greyscale.
There are two different methods we use for opening reports, both simply
using his printer defaults and both cause him a problem:
i)
docmd.openreport "reportname",acviewpreview
DoCmd.PrintOut , , , , noofcopies
ii)
DoCmd.OpenReport "reportname"

We also got him to press ctrl+p on the report and verify the print settings
and then print. The settings here were greyscale as expected but it printed
in colour.

He has tried 2 different printres, Lexmark X1150 and a HP Deskjet 5550. I'm
not sure about the HP but I know he has the latest driver for the Lexmark.

He says the previous access 97 based version of our software was fine. We
have no problem with this in access 2003 ourselves and no other users have
reported a fault yet - although it is a beta release and we only have around
30 installations at present.

Can anyone help with this?

Thanks,
Andrew
