Hi,
I thought I would be smart and install the Access 2007 Runtime on my server
(SBS 2003) that runs Office 2000 Pro. (New rule 1: Heed warnings against
running multi versions).
I now can't run any 2000 apps, with the error "Object or class does not
support the set of events" coming from event procedures. A couple of recent
posts mention the same thing, but the solution seems to be centered around
the immediate code being worked on, however does shut down without notice
similar to others posts. My code runs fine on a 2000 Access version machine,
including the server.
I tried starting the mdb under Office\Access.exe and Office12\Access.exe
with the same results. I noticed the ActiveX reference was missing, and
thought this to be my problem, to no avail, and same with OLE automation (I
think this is an unused reference though). Any event that references DAO is
failing, but I am explicitly Dim'ing variables as a DAO.Recordset. I can
compile code without errors.
I understand the v12 object model has the 2007 DAO code within, unless
running 2000 version code which runs the DAO 3.6 older version (This time I
read contributors pages such as www.allenbrowne.com.au before making
posts...).
My only solution presently is to uninstall the runtime, and if still
failing, reinstall Access 2000. Any suggestions first?
Thanks in advance.
