Works v.8 did not exist back in 1997.

To obtain assistance installing your upgrade version of Microsoft Access 97,
contact Microsoft Product Support Services. See your product literature or
your support contract for the technical support number to call. Or, to obtain
the support phone number for your product, visit Microsoft's
"Support Options & Phone Numbers" Web page at the following address:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=fh;EN-US;CNTACTMS (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=fh;en-us;cntactms )

When you call Microsoft Product Support and speak with a support professional,
please inform the engineer that you own a qualifying program and that you need
assistance installing it.

As another user has mentioned, Microsoft Works 8.0 and Microsoft Works Suite 2005 did not exist at the time
Microsoft Office 97 (including Microsoft Access 97) was released. You'd probably need Microsoft Works 4.0,
Microsoft Works 5.0 or Microsoft Works 6.0 to qualify for the upgrade, but don't quote me on this as I'm not
sure when they were released.
