Access '97 Upgrade

C

Carl Schnurr

I have Office '97 Small Business Edition installed on my
computer running Windows xp. Office '97 SBE is a
qualifying product for Access '97 Upgrade.

I had installed both onto my old computer which used
Windows '95 and is now trashed.

When I try to install Access '97 Upgrade onto my Windows
xp computer I get an error the Upgrade Check Search
Failed.

Even when I install the Office '97 SBE CD and click
LOCATE in D:\ I get the same error. Shouldn't this work?

I found a Microsoft Knowledge Base Article - 167589 which
states OFF97: MS Access CCP Does Not Detect Small
Business Edition, says its a novice problem...

As the KB article you quote says,

"To obtain assistance installing your upgrade version of Microsoft Access
97, contact Microsoft Product Support Services. See your product literature
or your support contract for the technical support number to call. Or, to
obtain the support phone number for your product, visit Microsoft's "Support
Options & Phone Numbers" Web page at the following address:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=fh;EN-US;CNTACTMS

When you call Microsoft Product Support and speak with a support
professional, please inform the engineer that you own a qualifying program
and that you need assistance installing it."
