Access Database Viewer

R

RKJ-3

We have a rather large Access database and would like to provide read-only
access to our users without having to purchase full Access client licenses.
Does anyone know of a free or low cost viewer that will allow my users to
view and search an Access database? If so, pleasde let me know where I can
find it.

Thanks,
Rob

There is no official "Microsoft" viewer for Microsoft Access Databases (.mdb files), however, a third party
viewer is available. You should also note that it is NOT supported, recommended, or endorsed by Microsoft.

MDB View 1.03
http://www.softpedia.com/get/Internet/Servers/Database-Utils/MDB-View.shtml

You will also need Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) 2.1 or later installed for MDB View to
function/install.

MDAC 2.8 SP1 can be downloaded here (for Windows 98 and later):

MDB View will prompt you for a username and password upon opening any Microsoft Access Database (.mdb file)
regardless if it is password protected or not. If the file is not password protected, just leave both fields
blank and click OK.

With that in mind, there is a free Microsoft Access Snapshot Viewer which will allow you to view Snapshot
files (.snp) created in Microsoft Access. You can get it here:
