Implement security. You should first read about Access security:
http://office.microsoft.com/assista...in=EC010227011033&QueryID=ZQ18wp2Fj0&respos=2
Then start with a copy of the database and go to Tools/Security/User
Level Security and perform a little testing. For example setup some
test users, permissions, etc. The User Level Security Wizard will walk
you through the process. Once you feel you understand how security
works then secure the original database.
Note: depending on how you use Access you may not want to make the new
Workgroup Information file your default, instead allow Access to
create a shortcut. If you do make your new Workgroup the default then
you'll need to use the Workgroup Administrator to switch back to
System.mdw (the default) or you may not be able to open databases you
previously created.
Should you have additional questions then you may want to ask them in
the Access Security newsgroup since that's where the security experts
tend to hang out:
http://www.microsoft.com/office/com...icrosoft.public.access.security&lang=en&cr=US
Please post all follow-up questions to the newsgroup. Requests for
assistance by email can not be acknowledged.
