I am getting the following error message:

File Access Denied. You do not have the permission
required to access the file d:\Outlook2001/archive.pst

I get this with all of my old outlook .pst files any
Ideas??

Thanks

Copied them to CD? You need to copy them back to your harddisk and change
the "Read Only" file property. Outlook needs full access to the file.

I just moved and now have a laptop that I want to update
with all of my emails, contacts, etc. from my desktop PC.
For the past several hours, I've tried to export the
Personal Folders (.pst) file to a R-RW disk and then
import to the laptop. I get the same message you did.

I then tried to access it from my 2-PC LAN using Shared
Folders. Still got the same msg. Went on-line and found
where it said to make sure the Properties box is not
marked with Read Only checked. Did that. Still couldn't
read the file.

Who knows the secret to this? Why was it made so
complicated to copy/use a file?

Thanks for any help.

Gary

Make sure you got read/write access to the file (also check the NTFS
permission) and try running scanpst.exe against it. How big are the files?
