Access Error

I'm trying to open a querie that others in my office can open but I am
getting an error that states "Your microsoft access database or project
contains a missing or broken reference to the file dao2535.tlb version 3.5",
then when I click ok I get "Undefined function in "mid" in expression". I
have access 2002. I've tried to repair and reinstall the program but it
doesn't help and I can access other queries, tables, reports and forms.
Also, in help is addresses "reference" under the tools menu; however, I do
not have "reference" listed under tools.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

You need to go into the VBA editor, i.e. code behind a form or any module.
The references option then appears under the Tools menu and probably has a
Missing ... checked. Uncheck any missing references and then exit the DB and
try again.
