Access Reports wont run

I purchased a Dell Inspiron I am having trouble getting Microsoft access to
display, create or run reports (including in design view and the report
wizard will not complete creating a report when run). I use MS Office 2003
professional with service pack 2 installed and fully updated via the
Microsoft update site.

When trying to run a report sometimes I get a message “action open report
cancelled†but most times nothing. All other areas of access and office seem
to be running.

Trouble shooting done so far with out success.

· I used the same installation CD to install the software on another
computer and all worked well with out any problems.

· This product worked on my old PC with out any problems.

· Turned off McFee security centre.

· Turned macro security to low.

· Repaired the installation.

·Full uninstall and reinstall of office.

· Unable to run reports on base installation i.e. without updates.

·Unable to run reports after SP2

·Unable to run full update of product via Microsoft update.

·Compact and repair data basse

I think there is a conflict with something on the laptop e.g. a security
setting but am uncertain what it may be, and someone out there can help.

all other office apps are working OK

Dell say its a software problem. operating system win xp sp2

Access uses the metrics of the printer driver to calculate the layout of the
report. If there is no printer installed, or if there is a problem with the
default printer, you get the symptoms you describe.

BTW, the Dell Inspiron is a great little machine to run Access on. I'm using
it for A97, A2000, and A2003.
