Accessing e-mail through IE 7.0

I recently upgraded to IE 7.0. In my previous version of IE, I was able to
click an e-mail icon and Outlook would automatically boot and I would have
access to my e-mail. Now, the only e-mail IE 7.0 seems to support is
web-based, and everytime I want to access my POP e-mail account I need to go
back to the desktop and launch Outlook from there. Is there anyway to launch
Outlook from IE 7.0?
