Depends upon your email address. You should check the Yahoo! site for your
domain. Any 'yahoo.com' account will require a $19.99 a year fee for POP3
and SMTP access; but your IP address suggests that you might have a CC
("country code") domain, such as 'yahoo.com.au', or 'yahoo.co.jp'. I know
those have free access if you sign up for the Yahoo! Delivers ad email. I
have an account in each domain. Check the "Mail Options" link in your Yahoo!
account for the details.

I am not a Yahoo! Plus subscriber and I have free POP3 and SMTP access on
two Yahoo! accounts. One is a 'yahoo.com.au' account, the other is a
'yahoo.co.jp' account. Well, I used to have a Yahoo! 7 account, but they
seem to have closed it for inactivity.

Depends on the regional domain of Yahoo to which you connect. Some
regional Yahoo domains (they contain a top-level country code in their
domain name) still provide free access to their POP and SMTP mail hosts.
The USA regional domain for Yahoo (yahoo.com) does not. The regional
domains for Yahoo that allow free mail host access is diminishing.

Yahoo! Delivers

Discontinued a long time ago (April 24, 2002). So the only free access
are for those regional Yahoo domains that still allow it (which is
diminishing).

I wouldn't know how to prove that the CC versions of Yahoo! supporting
POP3/SMTP access are "diminishing". But these still work for me. Oddly, I
tried setting up MS Outlook Express for the Yahoo! 7 account, and it failed.
I forgot that I already had a profile configured in Pegasus Mail; that one
still works.
