I was pleasantly surprised to find that the installation went through
without
an activation problem.
Something new though has arisen.
-Now, I find that sometimes Outlook or Word will load slowly and then
freeze
when I select an email to print or Doc to open.
I ran Office diagnostic and nothing showed up. Then I enabled "show hidden
files & show file extensions" and that seemed to fix it-for the day. I
know,
that seemed like a strange remedy for that.
Now, the next day I find the same problem.
I had transferred a number of data files to the new computer and found
folder attributes set to read only. I have tried to remove that, but it
seems
to keep coming back. I am still transferring more files, so maybe that is
re-setting the attribute to read only.
Can you suggest a remedy for this? Thanks again.

If Office (regardless of version) came with the computer, the license is
limited to that specific computer.
If you bought Office separately, you can install it on the new desktop.
Office 2003 will work on Vista but if Office 2007 is a retail copy, I'd
suggest loading it on the desktop so you won't have to go back and forth
between versions. It will help you get better at using the new software
even
faster and you don't have to fuss with compatibility issues for your own
files.
As for activation, after you install the program, just activate it. You
may
have to opt for the telephone activation and tell a human being what's
going
on but no big deal.

I had Office Pro 2003 on my old desktop running XP which just died. I
have
Office Pro 2007 on my laptoprunning Vista.
I am the only user of both.
I just bought a new desktop computer running Vista.
Which version of Office can I put on my new Vista desktop? I'm a little
recluctant to try putting the 03 version of Office on a new Vista
computer.
How would I activate Office on the new computer if the old Office is
still
on the dead computer, and the new Office is on the laptop?
thanks
