You'd want to set all your animations as starting automatically instead of
starting "on mouse click." (Either use "with previous" or "after previous,"
whichever is appropriate for the animation.)
You'll also want to set all slide transitions to automatic and put in an
appropriate time for them in the "transition automatically after xxx-number
of seconds" box.
These settings aren't difficult to do.
To add a picture to a slide use Insert/Picture/From File and select your
picture. To add animation to an object on a slide, right-click, choose
Custom Animation. In the Custom Animation task pane, choose Add
Effect/Entrance and choose the effect. Then click the object in the list on
the Custom Animation task pane and change the Start behavior at the top of
the pane to "with previous" or "after previous."
To add a slide transition, choose Slide Show/Slide Transition. Click
"automatically after" and put appropriate time in the box.
If you need help with something specific, holler back.
Oh, you know, you may not even need any animation if you're just doing music
and pictures. Just slide transitions may be plenty.
And actually, if you just need music and pictures with some cool
transitions, you might want to consider using Windows Movie Maker
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/updates/moviemaker2.mspx or
Photo Story
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/digitalphotography/photostory/default.mspx
to create your presentation. These are both free downloads from Microsoft,
and, while they don't do as many things as PowerPoint, they're easier to use
and are specifically created for making pictures+music-type shows. They both
save out as WMV files, which can be played in Windows Media Player.
