AD synch problem?

Please help me understand this...

I have read that when synchronizing accounts between AD and Proj Srv, if a
user is a member of a PWA group, but not a member in the mapped AD group,
then the user will be removed from the PWA group when synchronization takes
place. I've also read that the use won't be removed, but will instead be
"deactivated" in PWA. I am testing this myself, and it appears neither is
true - the user stays in the PWA group and remains active.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong, or not understanding this correctly, or
probably both. Can anyone provide some clarity, please?
