Tom's suggestion is a good solution.
you might want to also look at
www.coffeecup.com they've got a nice gallery
maker that's easy to use.
there's also the FrontPage photogallery but it's a little problematic.
sometimes when I'm working on an unfamiliar site I'll expand the images
folder in the left (folder pane) click the first image in the folder and
shift+click the last (to select them all) then I'll drag and drop them onto
a page. by doing this I've got a visual reference so I know what the images
look like and I'll also get size attributes.
Not necessarily a solution for what you want to do but a good trick
nonetheless.

I have a PHP script that you can drop into your images folder, then when you click the link to the images folder it displays thumbnails of whatever's in the folder. You can set your own headers and CSS. Would you like for me to post it? Or email it? Can somebody help me with the form upload problem I posted on FP General Questions and Extensions?
