Adding a character to the beginning and end of txt in a cell

Hi I would like to know if i can add a [ or ] or " to both ends of some text
in many different cells.
Is there a way of doing this?

Try entering this in a new column ="["&cellreference&"]"

I would then copy and paste the range as values on top of the original data.
