Adding other Programs to track with Outlook Journal

It would be nice to use Outlook Journal to track the files that I open with
other programs (not just the Office files like Word, Access Excel etc) so
that I can recall the files I have previously worked on in these other
applications. Is there a way to add the journal tracking of files opened with
these other applications?
