Adding Users to Resource Global

M

Masood

Hi,

How can a user (windows authenticated via Project Web
Access) can be added to resource global? I tried using
Tool/Build Team from Enterprise to no avail. Also tried
to modify current enterprise generic resources to match
the user account to no avail.

Thanks, Masood

1. log on to project professional with proper priviliges to open /edit
resource information
2. check out the resource global
3. add the resource there ... if the user already exists make sure that the
resource display name exactly matches the user name.

There are several ways to accomplish this:

1) Open your Ent Global and go to the resource sheet and
start enetering the data. This can be very cumbersome.

2) Export your data to a coma delimited file from an
email address book or other database application with the
data you need, i.e. windows logon, email address, and any
other data you need. Import into Excel and rearrange the
columns to match your Ent Global resource sheet view.
When you have entered all the data into Excel, you can
copy and paste. Paste into the name field, do not try to
paste into the Indicator column. Save your Ent Global
and now you will see resources when you try to build a
team.
