"Additional mailboxes" appearing more than once - Outlook 2003

Setup:
------
Exchange Server 2000 (Small Business Server)
Windows XP SP 1 & SP 2
Office 2003 (and SP 1)
Roaming profiles

Problem:
--------
In the "Folder List", under "All Folders", mailboxes added using the
"Open these additional mailboxes" are appearing more than once. Also,
"Public Folders" is appearing twice.

Additional:
-----------
* This only happens with some of my users, but there is no common
factor between them.

* It doesn't seem to matter which machine they are logged in on.

* I've tried removing one of the additional mailboxes (it only appears
once in this tab) using the
Tools/Email accounts/Change/More Settings/Advanced tab. If I do this,
then *one* of the copies of the mailbox goes from the Folder List, but
the other remains, and appears to still be valid.

* It doesn't matter if they use a machine with XP SP 2 or not.

* It doesn't matter if they use a machine with Office SP 1 or not.

* One of my users has a folder appearing for an email account which
has been deleted. She's not sure if she added the account or not.
(This may be a different problem, but I include it here for
completeness.)

I'd appreciate any thoughts, solutions or pointers to relevant pages.

Many thanks,

Carl

Hello,

I think I'm having a similar problem. I'll try to compare notes. I've got
an Exchange mailbox which was showing up twice. The mail profile had one
SMTP/POP3 and one Exchange setup. In that configuration, I show the
Exchange mailbox twice and it works fine. If I remove the Exchange account
from the mail settings, one of the 2 Exchange mailboxes still remains, but
becomes inaccessible. I don't know when it showed up but I can't get rid of
it even though I have only the POP3/SMTP account configured currently.

Sounds like you have a corrupt mail profile. Use Control Panel>Mail>Show
Profiles>Add to create a new one.
