Address sync question with Entourage X and Palm.

I have a question about syncing address between Entourage X and my
Palm*. First of all let me say that I am fairly new to this. I have
only had a Palm that I could connect to my Mac** for a few days. I
have a number of contact that i like to maintain on my computer, but I
don't want them all on my Palm. So, I would like to know if there is
a way to select specific addresses for transfer to my Palm.

My first attempt at accomplishing this was to transfer all of my
contacts to my palm and then selectively delete those that I didn't
want while selecting the "Save archive copy on pc" option in the
delete dialogue. However, this still caused Entourage to delete all
of those deleted contacts. I also looked, but could not find
anything in Entourage that would allow me to tell it if I wanted those
addresses transfered to the Palm. (I was teaching my mom how to use
hers with Eudora and noticed that they have a nice convenient check
box specifically for this purpose.) So, is there a way to do this
with Entourage?

This is how I do it...

In Entourage, create a Category called "NoSync" (or whatever you want).
Now add this Category to all the Contacts that you do not want to Sync.

Now open up the Palm HotSync Manager and configure the Entourage
Conduit by gong to HotSync > Conduit Settings > Entourage Conduit.

Set the Conduit not to sync Contacts in the NoSync Category. Save your
changes.

If the Contacts you don't want to sync are already in a category that
you don't need synced, you can avoid creating a new Category. Depends
on your particular needs.
