Can anyone offer expereineced based advice on the use of PowerMac
GoBetween for Entourage 2008 for syncing Entourage Tasks, Events and
Addresses with a Palm Zire under Mac OS 10.5.7? I'm considering
upgrading fro Office 2004 to 2008 and have read a great deal about the
problems associated with syncing due to the loss of the Entourage
conduit provided with 2004 and missing with 2008.
There are issues with sync services. I seem to be having a bit more
luck with it lately with Entourage but it sure isn't reliable and when
you think its running well - well......
Gobetween looks like a very old product from what I can tell. If you
check versiontracker its only given 2 stars and is rated .2 and .3 of
OSX so its old.
I wouldn't buy it.
I think a lot of us are waiting for Snow Leopard to see if this helps.
I spoke to an Apple Product Specialist a few weeks ago and he said
hang in there with Entourage and hope that Snow Leopard solves the
problems. He's crossing his fingers and said I should too.
Like I said, I do seem to be having a bit more luck with it lately but
I'm so used to the fluky stuff that happens I kind of know what's gone
wrong and how to get out of it. Its time consuming at times, totally
annoying, very frustrating especially if you loose data or any of the
other weird things that will happen but when it works I am able to use
Entourage a software package that completely meets my needs. Sync is
critical to me though so my knowing how to sort of handle it helps a
lot. I've tried the Apple apps and they are more reliable around sync
but don't provide the power I need. Another app that is powerful but
in my view not as good as Entourage is Contactizer Pro but they too
are having a terrible time with sync services. I just gave up on this
one as when sync fails in this app it affects the whole system. When
sync goes fluky in Entourage it only affects the app, sync services
and what you might have on the handheld.
