Adjust Project Date

I would like to adjust the project start date for a new year, but also remove
the summary bars, task bars, milestones, etc. that show up on the Gantt Chart
view. Is there anyway to do this? Using the template did not work-the
project start date was adjusted, but the bars still show. Thanks.

One of the managers wanted the Gantt Chart blank, but there doesn't seem to
be a way of doing that. He wants to save a project as a template to use in
the coming year with the project start date 1/1/08, but of course the task
bars pop up automatically on 1/1/08. Is there anyway at all to "delete" the
little blue bars??? Why, exactly, he wants it that way is beyond me, but
that's how he wants it, if possible. Thanks again.

That makes no sense. What would you save in a template except the task list
with it's outline structure and perhaps the resource list? Remove the
tasks, summaries, milestones, etc and you have nothing left except a blank
project, exactly the same you get when you click the "new project" button on
the toolbar. Once you delete the tasks, there's nothing left of the
project. I suppose it could make sense if you were going to re-use the same
resources and wanted to avoid rekeying them in. If that's the case, just
delete the task list and save the file as a template with your choice of
name.
