Greetings:
In an effort to standardize how we set up some of our
admin and support tracking projects, I think I've set some
things up wrong, and I am looking for some recommendations:
I built templates for the other managers that set each
task as a fixed duration, and non-effort driven. In the
case of our admin projects, we assigned resources at 0%.
In the case of our support projects, we used metrics from
last year to estimate the amount of time to plan each
resource for the year.
What is happening - when resources enter their actuals on
these projects and the time is approved, it is changing
the completion dates of the tasks.
I know this is a consequence of how I set these up. Does
anyone have suggestions on changes to make to these
settings so we can record the time, keep the durations for
all of 2005?
Other best practice recommendations would be appreciated
as well.
Thanks,
SBelling
