administative update

André

I have installedd office 2000pro (incl access) as an administrative point on
a server. Now i would like to add sp1 and sp 2 to this installation point so
that when I install new clients then I don't have to install these service
packs on each pc seperatly.

I get an error message
The upgrade patch cannot be installed by the Windows Installer service
because the program to be upgraded may be missing, or the upgrade patch may
update a different version of the program. Verify that the program to be
upgraded exists on your computer and that you have the correct upgrade
patch.

I get this message whit sp1 and sp2

How can i resolve this?

Tanks anyway

Hi Andre,

Firstly, you need to be running Office 2000 SR1 to be able to add any
service packs to it. If you havent got that you need to apply the SR1
Administrative update.

Secondly, and i may be wrong here, I dont think that a Service Pack can be
added to an administrative installation (If anyone can tell me I am wrong
here, could you also tell me how please?)

Thirdly, you say you are trying to apply SP1 & SP2. The latest SP for office
2000 is SP3 and it includes SP1 & SP2.
Are you sure you are not trying to apply the OfficeXP SPs? The reason I ask
is that the latest SP for OfficeXP is SP2 and you DO need to apply SP1
first.
