Administrator permissions lost

Mark Etheridge

Hello,

We just got Project server installed. I was setup to the be the
adminstrator. I was fooling around with my user/group permissions, and added
"Project Manager" to my categories I belong to. This has now given me far
less 'admin' permissions. For example, I cannot access the "Manage Users and
Groups". Therefore, I cannot give myself full 'adminstrator' permissions.

Is there another way to do this????

While adding yourself to the Project Managers group, did you also remove
yourself from the Administrators group? If not, then it sounds like you
have set some permissions to Deny in the Project Managers group, which are
impacting your permissions in the Administrators group. Remember that
permissions are cumulative across all of the Groups to which you belong. If
you set a permission to Deny in any Group of which you are a member, that
permission "trumps" the Allow permission in any other Group to which you
belong.

To solve this problem, one approach would be to log in using the built-In
Administrator account in PWA rather than using your Windows user
authenticated account. I trust you wrote down the password that you set
when installing Project Server. Hope this helps.
