I installed MS Office 2003 Professional, directly from CDs, on our machine
which is running WinXP with all current service packs and patches installed,
set up with multiple logons for different users. Also installed all Office
updates/patches.
Now, when launching Internet Explorer it fires off Windows Installer,
apparently trying to install/update some part of MS Office.
I tried the repair/update option of the MS Office install, which did not help.
And tried to identify and remove or disable Office components specifed under
Tools>Programs> "Internet programs" and Add-ons, to no avail.
I also tried looking at the registry and file access, but way too much going
on to identify the problem.
Any help would be appreciated, since this is a real pain. Every time I move
to a new page in IE, it again starts the Windows Installer.
