After Project 2000 upgrade to 2003 database upgrade utility error

I currently have users running Project 2000. I am testing rolling out
Project 2003. I uninstall Project 2000 install Project 2003 and I receive an
error on starting Project "Database Upgrade Utility 1004 An unexpected error
occured with the method." I have install all updates and still get this
error. Any ideal Please.

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup

Sorry you haven't had a response - perhaps nobody knows! I don't have a
magic formula Are you using Project Standard or Professional and server?
Are you using a trial version? Have you tried installing over the top of
2000, rather than unstalling first? Have you tried on another PC?

thank you for your response. I am using Project 2003 STD, no server, and it
is not a trial version. This error occurs after unistalling Project 2000 STD
and installing 2003. This happens to every box that has had Project 2000 on
it. If the box never had Project 2000, this problem does not occur. I have
search the internet and have seen others have had the same issue, but no one
has posted a fix.

I think you better contact Microsoft support as you might have a faulty
disk. Perhaps you'd let us know the outcome so we can help others.
