Aligning Text Boxes & Graphics

I've recently updated to Publisher 2003 on Windows XP. In previous versions
of Publisher I could align horizontally & vertically in one step by holding
down the shift key. In 2003 it appears to be a two step process, requiring
to open the align window twice. Is there a way around this?

If you go to Arrange > Align or Distribute, and hover over the small
horizontal bar above Align Left, it should change colour. Click and drag
this small bar to "tear off" the menu, so you can use it as a toolbar. You
can now align horizontally or vertically, or distribute in those directions,
with one click.

Thank you very much Ed!
It's little things like this that are frustrating when you change versions
of a program.
I've been reading the threads for some time and have learned so much. This
was my first time asking a question. I appreciate the quick and helpful
response.
